Organized by: The AAPS Inhalation Technology Focus Group
Inhaled peptides and proteins have promise for respiratory and systemic disease treatment such as diabetes. This class of molecules is particularly well suited to formulation and processing by spray drying to achieve respirable engineered particles. This webinar will detail the current status of inhalation drug delivery for dry powders including recent key approvals and materials in development.
The case study will compare the in vitro inhalation performance and the in vivo pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic performance for pulmonary delivery of a novel spray-dried powder of insulin in comparison to Exubera™. This case study and process can be used as a road map for the development of novel biologics for inhalation drug delivery.
